18.05 Army Ranger perspective: high stress, no fail situations – Cathal Berry, TD
Cathal Berry was second in command of the Army Ranger Wing and has decades of experience in training and high stakes environments. He has been deployed on multiple high tension missions including Lebanon, Chad and Kosovo. In addition, he graduated from Medicine in RCSI in 2014. He is currently acting as an independent TD for his constituency, Kildare South. He will be speaking on training in the army, in particular high-stakes situations, and developing fail safe systems.
18.25 Airline perspective: competency and evidence-based training – Capt. Karl O’Neill
Captain O’Neill is an aviation professional with over 22 years of experience. Currently, he is Chief Instructor and Pilot Recruitment Manager with Aer Lingus in Dublin, but in the past has been Chief Instructor, Flight Training Manager and Head of Training in various airlines. He has had responsibility for many innovative projects including the introduction of Evidence Based Training, Competency Based Training and Multi-Pilot Cadet Training at Aer Lingus. He spends is free time coaching as a certified GAA and Rugby coach.
