About Course

This learning resource has been designed to support the Basic Surgical Skills course run by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. These resources should be used before, during and after the practical skills course.

The course aims to provide a realist and supportive learning environment in which surgical trainees can rehearse basic technical skills. During the practical training sessions, tutors will provide guidance and feedback to the attendees. There will be a series of formative assessments which are designed to support skills acquisition and will be similar to the assessment format used in the Intercollegiate Surgical Training Curriculum.
