Professor Ronan O’Connell, President, RCSI
Professor Frank Smith, Professor of Vascular Surgery & Surgical Education at Bristol University and RCSI Fellow. He has a long held interest in TOS since he visited David B. Roos 25 years ago. Currently, he is concerned with Safety in Surgery, education and training. He is collaborating in setting up the first dedicated TOS surgical unit in the UK, aiming to improve reporting standards and setting up a TOS registry. He is also involved in introducing changes to the training curriculum of Vascular Surgeons, to include TOS. He is a co-author of the 2nd edition of the multi-authored textbook on Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
Miss Sophie Renton is an esteemed ConsultantVascular Surgeon with over 30 years’ experience. She currently practices in Northwick Park Hospital inLondon. She is currently a council member and the elected secretary of the Vascular Society. She has multiple publications on many aspects of arterial and venous disease, and holds the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, London.
