Department of Otolaryngology

The primary mission of the Department of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery in RCSI is to provide teaching in the specialty at undergraduate and postgraduate level, promote research in the field and provide educational services to various courses run under the auspices of the College such as the Sports Medicine Diploma and Fellowship in Dental Surgery.

The academic unit is sited in Beaumont Hospital which is the largest regional Ear Nose and Throat specialty unit in the Republic of Ireland and has acquired national responsibility for the provision of Cochlear Implantation and also has a tertiary referral base for Head and Neck surgical oncology, Skull Base surgery and Neuro-Otology.
